Whos ever heard of a poor intellectual? We do exist Im certain of it. I exist so there must be someone else like me out there who enjoys listening to or having a substantive conversation over turning on a TV and being saturated with marketing, propaganda, in general overwhelming idiocy. Someone who may listen to CNN or FOX on a specific subject to hear what theyre saying, but then goes hunting for the whole story, which usually tends to paint a quite different picture than the one presented to us by the mainstream. And someone who understands that reading a paragraph without any punctuation silently, is like being talked to nonstop without a single breath being taken.
This is unusual I know; Im looking for someone who is really watching the world stage right now. Getting their news from multiple sources, watching all of the affecting factors, vetting information for accuracy in order to get to the truth. The truth is a precious and powerful thing, even when its a horrible truth. The truth does set us free; free to think and act in our own lives with confidence from a place of knowledge, a place of real understanding. I would rather know the miserable truth than live in ignorance. I wont say blissful ignorance because eventually the truth comes out and that well theres no bliss to be found then is there.?
I so need someone I can on a conversation with! It may lead somewhere, it may not.- a truth of all relationships no matter how important or trivial they are to start with.
But Ive conversed briefly with a couple of men here and Im astonished. I guess Ive been living in my own world. There are plenty of others there with me, a few friends close to home, but mostly that detached online world of people youll never meet in person because they live in timbucktoo( havent heard that word since I was a kid:)) What astonishes me about what I see here is the lack of thought or any information at all really that goes into a post or an.I liken it to being teenagers again, no lifetime of experience making up the fabric of who we are as a person yet. Even I realize the entirity of this post might be right on target for someone out there and we could still end up being worlds apart and completely wrong together. Human beings are complex creatures, getting to know someone takes time, and anything worthwhile in life usually requires effort and risk. If its to flourish and endure then it also requires the ability to grow and the willingness to change.
What do I care about?
It used to be all of my own interests; fireworks, fire art, kayaking, good food, concerts and fun with friends. Now its global warming, human rights, growing social inequality, much every substantive issue of our time, more and more it seems caused by I will it the corporatist globalisation of predatory capitolism. I like making up my own terms, and living my life on them too.
Political leanings?
Not Particularly, just a human being wanting to live a life and see my grand get the chance to do the same. Like so many other Americans, getting seriously waylayed at it due to all the BS going on in this country. Unlike so many others Im not inclined to accept or ignore the status quo, certainly not one that means living an impoverished life ending with certain doom. I am a problem solver, and if I cant work on the problem I feel I will certainly lose my mind. Makes me political by default. So, reluctantly, I suppose I am somewhere in the realm of green social democrat- with arguments on every front. I believe every living thing has a right to be free, to live a life, to not have the resources needed to live that life ripped away or destroyed only for the sake of someone elses profit. A good example of one current battlefront is the Souix nations protesting the Dakota Access pipeline. And Democracy Now is the only news source I see covering it properly, accurately. Did you watch the CNN report?: No mention of the Wells Fargo/Goldman Sachs/et al funded Energy company bulldozing sacred sites in spite of a restraining order. No mention that the hired mercenaries using pepper spray and unleashing attack dogs on protestors as those bulldozers tore up a burial site were all breaking the law as well. No mention that BLM didnt go through the proper processes divorced woman looking hot fucking adult granny before issuing the construction permits, or that those permits were in violation of treaty. No mention of the Iowa farmers whos lives have been destroyed because their land was taken through Eminent Domain, or how those that remain are now threatened with eventual water contamination. Not one word, never mind debate, on whether we need or if its wise to have a pipeline carrying the filthiest oil on the planet across crucial fresh waterways.
