I figure I quit beating around the bush. I ask the one question that so far my conversations with those Ive connected with from my Personal ads have been a resounding "No". This question is specifiy for those looking for a deep, longterm and/or serious relationship with someone: How willing are you to meet with someone you meet via CL in person?
A silly question, I know. After all its why most of us are here.

Platonic has become a place for folks to find someone to casually chat with, with no expectation of a meetup. Knowing theres no pressure of a meetup has seen a surge in the W4M posts Ive seen daily. The main W4M and M4W categories as well as Misc. Romance are different. There is a significant level of expectationmostly from the guys it seemsif there is some common interest and both feel comfortable enough, you meet in person.
The problem has been getting to the actual meetup.
Its now a rare thing for people to meet in person from what Ive heard from many. Some have even said to me "Just go to OkCupid or Plenty of Fish instead, youre wasting your time with sList". The only thing both sites have over every other dating website is free messaging but the sites are not active enough by people in this area to be reliable. In short, youre better off just using CL.
My own inability or bad luck to not make a meetup happen myself aside, I know Im not alone in wanting to meet up with someone after reading their ad or vice versa and getting to know them. Not saying there should be a rush but at the very least, I make it clear in all of my Personal ads and some of my Platonic ads (which I dont mind sharing with anyone who wants to see them) Id like to meet in person eventually. Im clear in that regard.
So far, the answer to that has been No. Crazy as it sounds, its just strengthened my resolve to not give up. LOL. Im single, no and live in Boston (Hyde Park). See my stats on the right for the rest.
Now, Im I know there are ladies who have been asking themselves the same questions I have. Those I was able to at least talk to were both impressed and happy with what they learned about me. Without going into all the details, I have alot of sought-after qualities many are looking for. Instead of just blaming myself or the women for backing out or just disappearing, I view it as a potential relationship that wasnt meant to be. If it was, things would have progressed further. Rejection sucks but theres not much to be done about it.
Does that make sense?
